His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, represented the UAE in the high-level meetings at the conference, which aimed to address the ongoing crisis in Sudan and bolster humanitarian efforts in the region. Co-organized by France, Germany, and the European Union, the conference brought together representatives from various countries and organizations dedicated to advancing peace initiatives in Sudan.

During the conference, the UAE made a significant pledge of USD 100 million to support humanitarian efforts in Sudan and its neighboring countries. This pledge not only demonstrates the UAE's financial commitment but also its unwavering dedication to alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people.

The UAE's involvement in Sudan extends far beyond financial contributions. Over the years, the nation has consistently provided aid and support to those affected by the crisis. With a total aid package of USD 150 million, including medical, food, and relief supplies, the UAE has been instrumental in mitigating the severity of the humanitarian conditions in Sudan and neighboring countries.

One notable initiative is the establishment of a comprehensive field hospital in Abéché city, Republic of Chad, at a cost of USD 20 million. This field hospital, the second of its kind opened by the UAE, serves Sudanese refugees and underscores the nation's commitment to providing accessible healthcare to those in need, even in the most challenging circumstances.

In his address at the conference, HE Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan emphasized the UAE's call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Sudan and urged a return to the political process. He stressed the importance of international collaboration in advancing peace efforts and ensuring the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need.

The UAE's efforts in Sudan reflect the vision of its wise leadership and its commitment to promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
