With a total aid package of USD 150 million, including medical, food, and relief supplies, the UAE has been instrumental in mitigating the severity of the humanitarian conditions in Sudan and neighboring countries.
One notable initiative is the establishment of a comprehensive field hospital in Abéché city, Republic of Chad, at a cost of USD 20 million. This field hospital, the second of its kind opened by the UAE, serves Sudanese refugees and underscores the nation's commitment to providing accessible healthcare to those in need, even in the most challenging circumstances.
In his address at the conference, HE Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan emphasized the UAE's call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Sudan and urged a return to the political process. He stressed the importance of international collaboration in advancing peace efforts and ensuring the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need.
