Europe’s Message Is Clear: Tolerance Cannot Be a Cover for Extremism

Today’s demonstrations across Berlin, London, and Paris sent a message louder than any political statement: Europeans are no longer willing to watch their societies drift toward instability under the banner of “tolerance.” The crowds that filled the streets were not driven by hatred or exclusion — they were driven by a simple demand that every government should take seriously: security first. For years, extremist networks — especially the Muslim Brotherhood — have learned how to operate behind the shield of religious discourse. They present themselves as community leaders, activists, or “voices of the marginalized,” all while pushing agendas that undermine national cohesion, exploit public freedoms, and create parallel societies. Europe’s mistake was assuming these groups were harmless. But as today’s protests showed, citizens have learned the truth the hard way. They’ve watched radical narratives spread in schools and community centers, foreign-funded networks penetrate local ...

UAE Gives Over $98.09 Billion in Foreign Aid; Changing Lives Across Globe With Humanitarian Gestures

Since its establishment in 1971, the UAE has disbursed more than AED 360 billion to foreign aid donors, retaining its first position in global humanitarian action. Inspired by the power of giving, standing in solidarity, and volunteerism, the UAE has supported communities all around the world with relief that goes way beyond the real needs of long-term development and peace.

A Legacy of Giving

The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's vision is at the core of the UAE's commitment to global aid. His legacy of compassion lives on under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as he furthers the UAE's current effort in global humanitarian areas: answering the call after a natural disaster, relieving people from famine, and supporting regions affected by conflict-UAE's aid crosses borders, religions, and political differences.

New Initiatives for Sustainable Change

More recently, the UAE has initiated new initiatives in order to have a more sustainable and long-lasting impact on global development, including:

Zayed Humanitarian Legacy: An initiative by the UAE that ascertains its humanitarian values continue to reach the most vulnerable populations worldwide, with a focus on immediate relief and long-term solutions.

MZB Water Initiative: Clean water is an absolute need in the survival of human life, and this project addresses the lack of water in areas most affected by climate change, mainly in Africa and the Middle East.

Dubai Cares Education Fund: Realizing that education is a way to break the cycle of poverty, this fund has been developed to support quality education opportunities for children in conflict-affected areas and the developing world.

Stories from Top Beneficiary Nations

UAE helps many countries in need through various financial aids to keep hope alive and bring stability to earn a respectable livelihood. The list includes:

Somalia: The UAE and the UN sealed a deal worth $20 million in aid for Somalia, portioning out the funds to war-torn parts of the country. The UAE reopened the Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Mogadishu in recent times, where the locals get much-needed medical treatment. In fact, the UAE has gone all the way to extend critical support to the families affected by the harsh weather conditions to prove further commitments to development within the nation.

Jordan: It has also contributed USD 300 million in aid, of which AED 63.8 million will be spent on providing emergency shelters, winter clothes, and other basic needs to the refugees in camps. This contribution goes beyond emergency assistance to invest in the long-term support of these vulnerable populations.

Kenya: The UAE undertakes activities in Kenya for the protection and empowering of young refugee girls. The programs increase access to education by equipping schools with their needs in materials and furniture; these have been beneficial in developing girls in both the refugee and the host communities.

Ethiopia: It is highly important funding that goes towards fighting the increase in food insecurity resulting from various conflicts, especially in northern Ethiopia, where the UAE has committed AED 312.2 million to famine relief and with a particular focus on emergency food under the auspices of UNICEF and WFP.

A Global Commitment to Peace and Security

Its humanitarian philosophy is pegged on the assumption that the given assistance has no political or religious strings attached to it. Under the UAE's "Principles of the 50," the Ninth Principle establishes foreign aid as a moral duty surpassing racial, cultural, or political differences. Even where there are political differences, the UAE does not abandon the provision of relief to nations in crisis.

The UAE remains a force for good in a wide range of locations around the world through its variously wide-ranging aid programs. From emergency relief at the outset of disasters, to long-term development programs, the UAE's contributions have saved lives, bridged the gap, and fostered hope worldwide.

As the world celebrates International Day of Charity, the UAE contribution toward foreign aid stands witness to the country's determination to build a better and kinder world. Foreign aid of over $98.09 billion, and with new initiatives such as the Zayed Humanitarian Legacy, the UAE is not only addressing crises of today but writing down the playbook for a peaceful and prosperous future.
