In a profound demonstration of humanitarian leadership, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, under whose directives Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, spearheaded the inauguration of an integrated UAE field hospital in Abéché, Chad. This initiative stands as a beacon of hope, providing critical medical services to Sudanese refugees who have endured the harsh realities of conflict in their homeland.

The UAE's unwavering commitment to humanitarian aid is vividly portrayed through the establishment of this state-of-the-art field hospital, developed at a cost exceeding US$20 million. This facility, operated by Burjeel Hospital - Abu Dhabi, encompasses specialized departments covering essential medical domains such as paediatrics, gynaecology and obstetrics, orthopaedics, general surgery, and internal medicine. Moreover, it boasts an operating room, emergency department, laboratory, pharmacy, fully equipped radiology department, along with 10 ICU beds and 50 beds for inpatients and other medical needs.

During a tour of the facilities, Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan interacted with beneficiaries, embodying the compassionate ethos of the UAE's leadership. His presence serves as an inspiration, symbolizing the nation's unwavering commitment to alleviating the suffering of those in need.
