Duale underscored Kenya's pride in its role in restoring peace and stability in Somalia, which has contributed to significant socio-economic gains in the region. He emphasized the critical importance of cooperation between the two nations in combatting terrorism, highlighting that security is a fundamental component of economic development.
Kenya's commitment to the economic development of the region through a stable Somalia was reaffirmed by Duale. He also conveyed President William Ruto's pledge to provide the necessary resources to combat extremist groups like Al-Shabaab.
"As an anchor state within the region, Kenya, through the administration of William Ruto, is determined to achieve a stable and prosperous region," Duale stated.
Accompanying Duale on this visit were Chief of Defence Forces Brigadier General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhyadin Addow and Minister of Defence (Somali) Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur. Also in attendance were Maj Gen Fred Leuria of the ACDF OPD&T, Col Duncan Keitany from the Defense Headquarters, Col (Dr) Edward Mackutwa, Col John Mnjala, and other officials from Nairobi-based Defense Headquarters.

Duale stressed the importance of unity in the face of security challenges, emphasizing that concerted efforts to combat terrorism would enhance the region's prosperity. A stable Somalia is seen as crucial for increased trade and economic growth in the East African region.
Regarding the departure of Kenya Defence Forces personnel assigned to the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia, CS Duale explained that it would occur in four stages, dependent on the progress of the peacekeeping effort in Somalia and the prevailing security and political conditions. He reiterated Kenya's commitment to peace, stability, and sustainable development in Somalia, emphasizing that these efforts would benefit both Kenya and the wider region.
